Several years ago, a couple of magpies did their best to raid our woodpecker feeder; lacking the adaptations necessary to cling to the suet cage, their antics and gyrations provided me with fabulous material. I used this material to create an unusual composition, invoking their alertness and boldness. This work was juried into the 2012 Birds in Art exhibition, a prestigious international museum show that is very selective.
