Since I was a horse-lover from the beginning, the zebras in Africa fascinated me - so many equine behaviors I recognized, and they are even more tactile with each other than horses are, bunching closely together and constantly interacting with one another. I found it difficult to tell how many animals I was seeing at any one time due to their stripes; I wanted this image to convey some of these aspects of the species.
