ARavengement
oil on cradled hardboard panels

$1200

I've been happily intrigued with some new directions in my work recently: the lovely surface of prepared cradled hardboard; 1:2 aspect ratios; and the use of multiple panels in a work. This piece is a perfect summation of all three. The two smaller panels are 6"x6", and the middle one is 6"x12". Part of what I find so interesting about a multi-piece work like this is that its arrangement depends on you, the collector - you interact with the work to display it, and so you choose the presentation of it.

These cradled hardboard panels are also wonderfully flexible: they can be hung on a wall, OR they can stand up on their own (eg, on a shelf or tabletop). That makes them inviting little gems.

And of course, this beautiful bird - with his glossy black feathers in the morning sun - was a fabulous subject for the work.
